Beowulf meets the requirements of a hero in many ways, he is strong, powerful, and he slays many beasts. He would do well in a video game as well but I do not think it would be very educational. Maybe if it was like map reading or based on history. Beowulf is sort of arrogant in my opinion though. He brags about all of his accomplishments and they are great, but pride is a horrible thing. He reminds me of another character from another game. Kratos from God of War, maybe they based Kratos on the stories of Beowulf. I don't know just thinking out loud. Characteristics for a game, the character must be unique and interesting. Those are the most important characteristics I think.
I'm following you. Beowulf is full of pride. However, he DOES have the skill to back it up.

Nah dude, God of War isn't based on Beowulf. God of War draws upon ancient Roman and Greek mythos to tell the story of a servant of the god of war, Ares. Beowulf was a hero from a Germanic tribe, and the stories about him are set in Denmark and Sweden. It could possibly be based on myths, but as nobody knows who the original author is, and since it is a stand alone epic, I don't know.
